Situated 1.5km east of Erluanbi, covering an area of 61.67 hectares, the Longkeng Ecological Reserve is at the southernmost part of the east coast. The entire area is formed by coral reeves, and due to its geographical location (which is at the intersection of the Pacific Ocean and the Bashi Strait), its formation is usually moulded by the waves. Longkeng does not only have a unique geology, it possesses up to 215 different kinds of coral plants, which is also where many birds and insects inhabit. Therefore this rich ecosystem has become an official reserve.
Next to the Longkeng Ecological Reserve, there is a place not to be missed. On the way there you must pass through a wind-proof woods. There you may hear several whispers - not of the wind, but of the birds that can only be found in Taiwan. Stepping out of the forest as the tweeting music fades, you are greeted by an alignment of corals covered in various marine plants and seaweed.
In order to enter the Longkeng Ecological Reserve, you must report to the Kenting National Park administration center. Only 200 people maximum are allowed to enter per day, as for children under 7 years of age are prohibited due to safety considerations unless an agreement contract is signed by the administration center and that the child must be accompanied by a parent. As for permitted visitors, they must listen carefully to the introduction and instructions prior the entrance, as well as exchanging their ID card with a pass and co-operate with the officials of this park.
The reserve will close from January to February every year in order to take conservation measures. Further more, every tuesday there are system check-ups of the facilities, thus closing the place for the whole day and denies any visiting entries.

1) From Kaoshiung Xiaogang Airport Interchange -> Shueidiliao -> Fonggang -> Checheng -> Hengchun -> Kenting (and then follow the signs to destinate).
2) Linbien Interchange -> Shueidiliao -> Fonggang -> Checheng -> Hengchun -> Kenting (then follow the signs to destinate).
3) Taitung -> Zhihben -> Daren -> Fonggang -> Checheng -> Hengchun -> Kenting (then follow the signs to destinate).

1) FLy to Hengchun Airport, transfer to shuttle buses or taxis to Kenting.
2) Fly to Kaoshiung Airport, transfer to express buses to Kenting (Guoguang, Kaoshiung, Pintung, Zhongnan).
3) Fly to Pintung Airport, transfer to Pingtung express and alight at Pingtung Train Station, then transfer to Kenting.
--RAILWAY
1) Alight at Kaoshiung and take express buses to Kenting.
2) Alight at Binliao Station, transfer to Pingtung Express Bus to Pingtung Train Station. Then transfer to Kengting.
