Sixty Rock Mountain is a protruding peak west of the East Sea Coast Range in Zhutien Village. It's around 700 metres tall with a steep climb yet broad summit. Looking out from the top of the mountain, you see a field of grass everywhere around you like soft carpets of green with a few streaks of white concrete roads twisting its way around. Dotted randomly across the greenery are several red rooves of farms and tall bushes, reminiscent of an European highland farm.
Every July and August is the prime time for day lilies. The golden hides itself amongst the green as farmers find their way around, harvesting the good yield. In the sunset, the serenity around Sixty Rock Mountain transforms into a picture.
Near the summit there is an old standing maple tree, erected with its years of history and dignity.
There are 3 facilitated walkways and carparks, moreover 6 pagodas are placed around the area, designated with a name each : Shuentsao (June Bug), Huanghua (Yellow Flower), Lutsong {Lycoris), Danji (Hemerocallis), Liaotsou (erasing of nostalgia), Wangyo (forgetting of worries) etc. which are all deputy names of the Day Lily. Here you may sit and stare at the wonderous changes of the horizon, transforming from one surprise to another every moment.

By Own Car :
1). Following the No.9 Provincial Route from Hualien City going southward, passing Zhutien of Fuli Township. Then follow the signs up to Sixty Rock Mountain. Around 8km of distance.
2). From Taidong continue onto the No.9 Provincial Route northward. Then follow the road signs to destinate.
Public Commute :
1). At Hualien Train Station take the Hualien Coach Express and get off at Zhutien Station. Then transfer to a taxi and you shall destinate.
2). At Taidong City take the Dengdong Coach Express towards Hualien or Rueisuei. Get off at Zhutien Station, then transfer to a taxi and you shall destinate. |
