Mudan Water Dam is the biggest dam in Pingtung, and it collects water from Rureng River and Mudan River.
The mountainous encirclement of Mudan Dam is enchanting like a chinese water painting, as the water ripple with nostalgic memories.
If you drive you may be able to reach the top of the enbankment. Along the way you may be filled with a great view of the artificial lake. At the tip, you can see the water rush with thundering noise ; the lake opposite, however, is as still as a mirror, reflecting the mountains and sky, forming a picture of infinite space.

By Own Car :
1) Travelling southward take the State Highway 17, via Donggang, Linbien, and arrive at Shuediliao. Continue onto State Highway 1, past Bingliao, Bingshan until Fonggang. At Fonggang turn to State Highway 26, then onto Provincial Route 199 after Checheng. Past Sichong River and Shimen Battlefield and you may destinate.
2) From Fonggang or Taitung, take State Highway 9 or 11, and you will arrive at Shouka. There turn to Provincial Route 199 and via Shimen and you may destinate.
By Public Commute :
From Pintung take the express bus that travel towards Hengchun. Alight at Checheng, then transfer to the Taichi Express Bus towards Siuhai or Shimen. |
