Situated in Derwin Village, the Swan Lake is named after its shape similar to a graceful lake ; it is also the first and foremost site of the 8 Derwin Wonders.
The 8 Wonders include : Swan Lake, Valentines Lake, Tushi Castle, Large-Leaved Bayan, Mount Guanwang, Bats Cave, Dashi Bridge, and Tienhong Waterfall. It is expected to become one of the best tourist attractions in Southern Taiwan.
The Swan Lake Waterfall stretches for 12 meters tall, like the neck of a swan reaching for something. As for the aquamarine lake, it is as still and as moving as the swan's body. Further downstream is the Valentines Lake, however due to private farmland it is currently blocked.
The Tourists may visit other sites near Derwin Village. The Large-leaved Bayan was where the aborigines lynched their human sacrifices, therefore it bears another name : the Hanging Tree. This tribal process was to show the power and prestige of their itrbe so others will dare not to abuse them. Next to the old tree is the entrance to the 1264 meter Mt Guanwang. The Bats Cave hides deep within the mountain, secluded from the city noise. As for the cherry-blossom garden, also next to the Bayan, has an observatory where you can see many villages as well as mountains amongst the clouds.
