Point : Tsi-mu (Loving Mother) Bridge |
Count:14762 |
Green Waters Recreation Zone is where Liwu River and Peisi River intersect, and is 3km away from east of Tienshiang. It is where Tsi-mu Bridge situates.
Tsi-mu Bridge is made of Hualien marbles, reflecting the motherly dignity through the pure whiteness of the stone. In the east of the bridge, there is a Tsi-mu Pavillion which is built in the memory of the legendary loving mother Mrs Wang, dedicated by former president Chiang Kai-shek.
Tsi-mu Bridge is garrisoned by a stone lion of traditional oriental style, becoming an appealing monument as passers-by drive past. For those of you who might not have heard of the legend : the son of Mrs Wang (mentioned above) was washed away by floods at this very spot a long time ago, and since then Mrs Wang had been waiting for her son's return until death rested her in peace. And that was how this bridge was named Tsi-mu, literally meaning loving mother.
