Colonel Hotel is located within the business district on Suanyuan Road. The hotel lobby beholds a few exquisite wood carvings and painted china cutleries, fully representing the culture of Hualien. Next to the lobby is the Siangyang Gallery, where quality lighting illuminates the entire room with glass walls reflecting the shine. Here exhibitions of Hualien artists can be seen, from the inside of the space to the outdoor catwalk, where random bands and dance performances take on this stage.
Out in the front yard, there are benches available for rests or audience of the music. There are 6 carved lamp holds of aboriginal patterns, designed by Mr Ping-yang Tsai. The stylish poles matched with the stone benches present an environment close to aboriginal nature and aboriginal art.
