Siehtien Temple is situated within Yuli Township, and is the earliest and most representational temple of Hualien County. Siehtien Temple was first constructed during the Ching Dynasty by the respectable officer Wu Guang-Liang, in the hopes of the citzens' well-being. During 1051, there was a powerful earthquake which caused immense damage to the site and had to be reconstructed. To date, the Siehtien Temple bears a history of 120 years.
After the reconstruction, the exterior has maintained its original appearance with the sculpted dragons and carved phoenix. At both sides of the temple sits two bell towers, adding a sense of dignity and magnificence to the entire site.
The Siehtien Temple houses the Guanshen Imperial God, and every June of the lunar calendar is his birthday, therefore the Temple would hold massive celebrative festivals, attracting not only the followers but also many passers-by. The festival includes many food stalls that will leave an unforgettable experience in your mind.
Yuli Township also has other tourist sites such as the Anton Hot Spring, Tiehfen Waterfall Recreation Zone and Nan-an Waterful etc.
