Shiti Harbour is 64km south of Hualien and is where the trend of whale-viewing all started. As the backdrop are the great coastal mountains, and out into the open is the Pacific Ocean ; a natural reserve of Shiti's fine environment.
There are also canoes available at Siouguwang RIver, an aboriginal fishing zone, stalactite caves of bats etc. ; endless wonders for visitors to awe at are at Shiti Harbour. Many advertising and news agencies come here for article inspirations ; even television broadcasting stations such as TVBS, MUCHTV, Da-ai TV etc. have visited Shiti Harbour.

From Hualien Train Station, take the Hualien Express Coach towards Jinpu and Chengong ; past Shimen and alight at Shiti Harbour. Total journey takes around 1 hour 45 minutes ; cost per ride is NT$165.
From Taidong Train Station, take the Taidong Express Coach towards Hualien. Takes around 2 and a half to 3 hours. |
