Point : Hongchaikeng {Red Woods Pit} |

Hongchaikeng is a harbour situated on the western seashore of the Henchuen Peninsula. It is one of the two biggest ferry docks of Kenting (the only being Houbi Lake Harbour).
The Hongchaikeng Harbour has a special service called Dolphin Submarine which carries tourists to view the surrounding scenes of the Henchuen west coast as well as below sea level.
Hongchaikeng is famous for its red timbers, and the sea around this area is pervaded by coral reeves which attracts many professional divers to come and admire the wonder as well as enjoying their passion.
The coral formations are awkward in a way that only 2 harbours exist. Both harbours face west and walled by the hills to block out northeasterly winds. In winter, while Kenting is caught in a gust of strong gale, Hongchaikeng Harbour is in fact quiet without any disturbance, presenting a huge contrast.
Hongchaikeng bears a population of around 300 residence, with most villagers catch and trade fish as their main financial source of income. Next to the harbour there is an eye-catching pavillion that looks like a mushroom, this is because under the sea adjacent to the harbour, lies the so-called biggest fan-like coral formation in Southeast Asia.
