Kuanyinshan
Located at the west flank at the mouth of Tanshui River, Mt Kuanyin (Goddess of Mercy) consists of 18 moulds linked together. It is so named as the profile resembles that of Kuanyin in a laid down position. The landscape is blanketed by fog, resulting in a magnificent misty view from across the shore. No wonder it is one of the eight most scenic spots in Tanshui area and is a popular place for mountain walks.
On the south flank of the mountain along a stiff ridge, there is a temple called Linyin Temple, where the statues of Kuanyin are placed along the road side . Here, incense burning is non-stop all year round.
