The Sai Chia Park, originally named Sai Chia Aviation Park, was reconstructed and expanded into a multi-functional recreational center in 1987. The area is spacious with a fantastic view of the sea.
Blessed by its favorable geologic location and mild climate, it is the country's best venue for hang-gliding.
The park consists of four main areas : a landing plain, a take off area, a hang-gliding training center and a Boy Scout camp. The vast landing plain fringed by rivers makes it an ideal touch-down ground for hand gliding, hot air balloons and other air borne sports.
The take off area is located on a mountain on the eastern section of the park chosen for the airy atmosphere it possesses which enable the gliders to have smooth take-offs. As for the hand-gliding training camp is located on the southern part of the park. It is equipped with suit rooms, dormitories and other lodging facilities. Currently these facilities are opened to civil organizations for groups and competitors training only.
The Boy Scout camp is a new area and is one of the best campgrounds in the country. Equipped with basic utilities such as electricity and public bathrooms, the campsite can accommodate up to 1,200 campers. Certain parts are purposely cleared of obstructions for the handicapped so that they too, can enjoy the serenity of the wilderness.

From the Nanzhi Highway Exchange, go eastward along State Highway 22 passing Likan to Sinnansi.
Then, take a right turn eastward to Tarzan Village. Near the Sanmin Road entrance,
keep to the right lane towards Kuanfoo direction. After passing the Kuanfoo Main Bridge,
follow the left turn sign and continue straight to the destination. It is about 37 Km from the Highway Exchange. |
