Machao Hot Spring is situated within the Yangminshan National Park, and as you near the Machao Bridge, you can see stream of smoke linking with the sky and the hot pools.
From winter to summer, Machao Hot Spring is always filled with crowds regardless of day or night. It is a volcanic hot spring with a sulphuric smell and murky waters at a temperate of around 75 degrees celcius (not edible).
The hot springs have a healing function that stimulates good blood circulation and relaxes the joints.
