Point : Maokong |
Count:387183 |
Maokong is popular for its tea farms and tea houses on the hill slopes of Taipei vicinity, with the type of tea that is demanded by most tea lovers - the Tieguanyin.
The land within this valley is formed by centuries of erosion into a huge sinking hollow deep into the grounds of the earth. Observing from far, the rugged surface of flow streams of water seemingly resemble the scratches made by cat paws. Therefore the name Maokong, meaning Cat Hollow in Chinese, was derived.
There are several routes leading into the respective tea farms, tea houses and the exhibition area. If on holidays you are searching for a quite place far from the stirring city, you may choose to visit Maokong and roam admist the pine trees with the sounds of nature reverberating in your ears.
