Xiaoliuqiu is an island 15km southwest of the Eastern Harbour, the only coral island out of all the 14 islands around Taiwan.
The villagers make a living mainly out of fishing as they have a huge variety of marine species. So if you come you will be able to sense the real down-to-earth fishermen lifestyle ; you can even purchase unique handicrafts of shells and flax, a good souvenir for your friends.
The whole island has a circumference of 12km and 6.8km square area. It is one of the eight biggest scenic points of Southern Taiwan, and is connected with other minor sites, forming into a whole route of tourist attraction spots. Some include : Lobster Cave, many coral reeves, underwater park, etc.

By Own Car :
1) From the motorway take State Highway 17 (East Harbour), then take the ferry to Xiaoliuqiu.
2) From Pindong, go on the State Highway 27, then past Wandan Temple Hall. Stop at the East Harbour and take the ferry to Xiaoliuqiu.
By Public Commute :
Take the Pindong Express Bus to the East Harbour and take the ferry to Xiaoliuqiu from there.
