Tienshiang
Tienhsiang, a river terrace 450 meters above ground, is situated in a verdant valley, which is the home of the Tayal Tribe. Originally named Tapito, it was later renamed Tienhsiang in memory of Wen Tien-hsiang. It is west of the famous Taroko Gorge and its scenic beauty has attracted passers-by on the Central Cross-island Highway.

Fuyuan (Happiness Garden) and Meiyuan (Plum Garden) are two small gardens situated by the entrance to Tienhsiang. Visitors always stop by to stroll among plum trees. Next to Meiyuan is a red palace-like structure, which is the reception center for Tienhsiang ourist and also an ideal place for lodging.

Behind the local souvenir shop and the food stalls, the tall statue of Wen Tien-hsiang stands amid lush greenery of woodland. From here, visitors can enjoy views of the surrounding Tienhsiang parking lot areas. Crossing the Yufei Bridge and the Putu Suspension Bridge, visitors can reach the Hsiangte Temple on the other side of the mountain. Here, an almost 4-meters high imposing statue of Buddha stands by the slope. In the vicinity is also a tall Tienfung Pagoda of 7 levels which affords a splendid view of the Tienhsiang countryside.

The China Youth Corps Hostel with its modern architecture adds another major landmark to this area.
